Kateri is only a few years old when a smallpox epidemic sweeps her village, killing her Mohawk father and Algonquin mother. As Kateri grows up, she begins to long for the Catholic faith that her mother secretly practiced, but her uncle despises Christians. When Jesuit missionaries arrive in her village, Kateri's longing only increases—even as her uncle becomes more enraged. Learn how Kateri endured bullying, ostracism, illness, and loss for the joy of belonging to Jesus Christ through Baptism in this riveting story of the first Native American to be recognized as a saint!
