Discover the story of the extraordinary spiritual friendship between Saint Francis de Sales and Saint Jane de Chantal—a shining example of the gift and value of holy friendships in the Christian life. Saint Francis de Sales (1567-1622) was a priest, bishop, renown spiritual director, and the founder of Salesian spirituality. Saint Jane de Chantal (1572-1641) was a wife and mother who, after the death of her husband, discerned a vocation to religious life, became a nun, and founded a religious community. Despite their different life experiences and circumstances, Francis and Jane became great friends, and their friendship propelledthem forward in their relationships with God, their respective vocations, and their unique yet interconnected paths to heaven. This captivating biography by Dr. Wendy M. Wright brings the beauty of their friendship to life and reminds us of the importance of friendships for the spiritual journey.
